Hi, I am DESPERATELY searching for a Lefse recipe like the one my Norweigan Mother used to make for our family back in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota where my brother and I were born. This is a 3 ingredient recipe for Lefse: boiled ,cooked & mashed Irish brown baking potatoes; Crisco solid shortening and Gold Medal All Purpose Flour. My brother and I want to make “our Lefse” but we can’t remember purportions of these ingredients. WE ARE READY TO MAKE THE LEFSE NOW SO WE CAN BOTH ENJOY OUR FAVORITE LEFSE TREAT FROM OUR CHILDHOOD. We have all the proper tools to make the Lefse – the grooved rolling pin; the long thin wooden spatula for turning the Lefse on my electric griddle.
